Approve Pending Activities to allow edit

Postby Tessa on Tue Sep 06, 2011 3:30 pm

I'm confused- so on the Activities/display edit screen it says I have to approve pending activities to allow edit- i need to put in that we're waiting for a book for a subject that is not scheduled for today, but starts tomorrow- so how come I need to approve pending activities that aren't even scheduled? And does this mean I have to approve all subjects to be able to edit anything?

Thanks,

On Today-Daily, it displays the schedule for the day. When an activity is completed, the student checks it off (or the teacher) and clicks Save - this brings it to Pending Mode (saving the data on a temporary holding table). The completion date is attached and saved to the database only when the teacher clicks Approve. Clicking on Approve simply means that you agree with the student that he/she indeed finished the activity and the completion date is going to be saved on the database.

Modifications to the database can only be done when the completion date is finalized. Even if only 1 activity is completed, Approve can be clicked to go back to Edit mode. You can even check/uncheck activities and click approve - Approve simply means attaching (or erasing) the completion date. There is no limit as to how many times activities are approved.
