Closing out a day?

Postby tankgirl73 on Mon Sep 28, 2009 9:30 pm

I was just wondering if there is a way to "close" today's activities before midnight.

For instance, we have this scenario: the activities that have been finished today have been checked off and approved. Some activities were not finished, and are not going to be done today. So we would like the activity moved to the next scheduled occurrence of those courses. Once today is over (ie, passes midnight), that will happen automatically.

However, I would like to print out tomorrow's activity list tonight, so it's ready for us in the morning. He sometimes likes to get started before I'm even awake. Some of tomorrow's activities SHOULD be ones put off from today - but until today is completely over, the wrong activity will be displayed -- it's still assuming that today's activities will be done today.

I understand leaving it open, since sometimes an activity might be done later even after "school" is officially over. But when I KNOW that nothing more will be done today -- because, for instance, he's gone to bed -- I'd like to be able to "close" today. To say "nothing more will be approved today, please take today as finished and reschedule unfinished activities accordingly," so that tomorrow's schedule will be accurate and I can print them off without having to stay up past midnight!

Is there a way to do this currently?

There is no way to do this currently. This is a good idea, we will evaluate how to implement this -- maybe a "print tomorrow's schedule" link can be provided that would do what you want to do. For now the closest that you can do is have the student log in and print his schedule for the day.

Thanks for the reply.

Yes, we can currently print tomorrow's schedule - that's no problem. It's just the change in activity's because of what's not been done today won't be accurate.

Anyway, that would be great if it could be implemented in the future. Thanks for looking into it. :)
