Advanced Schedule Printout

My son just noticed today that when I used this printout, the checkboxes didn't print. They showed up on the screen in the print view, but they are not printing to my printer. I am using a Brother HL-5250DN laser printer. Would you mind taking a look at this?

We do not have Brother HL-5250DN laser printer. It might be related to the margin setup of your printer or the browser you are using. What browser are you using?

I am using Internet Explorer 7 on Vista Ultimate. The interesting thing is the from the normal Today page, printing the schedule for the current day prints the checkboxes fine. It's just the future day printing that doesn't.

I take that back - even on the Today page, the checkboxes are not printing. But the C for Core and E for Elective are printing, and I think my son mistook the C for a circle to use as a radio button, and he used it to check it off. So, the checkboxes are not printing on either type of printout. The margins that are printing are about 1" on the left side. That's where the line for the box prints, which is printing fine, as well as all of the text that is lined up on the left margin. It's just something about the checkboxes...

We have tried it on IE 7, IE 6, and Firefox 2, on Windows XP Pro and printing of both pages (Today and Future Schedules) doesn't have a problem.

We're thinking it might be related to the browser setup. Note also that the background gray alternating colors might not be printing as well. This is due to browser setting. You can try setting IE 7 to let it print the background colors and images by doing the following: Tools -> Internet Options -> Advanced -> Printing -> then check: "Print Background Color and Images". Though in our printer the checkbox prints without checking "Print Background Color and Images" (but background gray color does not), it might be different with your printer.

Also, if it doesn't work, try Firefox and see if the same thing happens.

I turned on background printing and it didn't print the grays or the checkboxes. So I went to the Brother site and downloaded the latest printer driver. I had been using the one built-in that came with Vista, which was very basic. I updated my printer driver with the Brother driver, and now the checkboxes print regardless of background printing AND the grays print when background printing is turned on! Woo-hoo!
