Co-op Classes

Postby dcwygant on Sat Aug 07, 2010 9:43 am

I am new to Skedtrack and am trying to setup my courses for the new year. I am a bit unclear on how to setup a Co-op class that also has daily work. Here is my scenerio. We attend a Co-op every Friday at which my son will be taking Latin, Physical Science, Writing, and PE. All of the classes except the PE class will also have daily work that will needs to be completed on non co-op days. My question is how to setup the daily work for Monday-Thursday and then show the co-op class attendence on Friday.

On the days that we attend co-op we do not do any other school work other than to attend the co-op classes. I only want the co-op classes to show on the Today list for the Fridays that we attend but would like the Today list to be normal on Fridays that we are may have a break from Co-op. Do I have to setup the co-op days as Fieldtrip days and somehow attach them to the course???

Would the PE class be setup as a fieldtrip since it is only attended on the co-op day?

I think this may have something to do with the "Day Co-Owner" checkbox but I don't quite understand how that is suppose to work.

Any help would be appreciated:)

One approach would be to setup the co-op classes as a different course, example: Latin for M-Th class and Latin Co-op for the Friday co-op class. Assign it only on Friday and if you want only co-op classes to appear on the Today-Daily, then check the "Day Co-Owner" option. All the classes that you want to appear on Friday must be labeled as "Day Co-Owner". TO put them together as one course, you can use Course Group and maybe just call it Latin. Do the same thing for the other courses.
